Westcliff University’s Publication Series

The Westcliff University Publication Program is a 16-week series that focuses on the curation of a manuscript for publication. Participants will be taken step-by-step through the process of preparing a manuscript, collaborate with peers to gain ideas and insight, set a structure to ensure progress on the manuscript, and may have a manuscript ready to submit by the end of the series!

You will be paired with a content specialist to aid you in the IRB process as well as verifying methodology and the reliability and validity of your findings. You will also have access to a writing specialist to help you express yourself with professional and formal English.

What if I Have Never Published Before?
Great! This series is geared toward those who have never engaged in publishing. All you need is a dedication to work on the manuscript, a willingness to adapt, and the availability to join us for every session.
What if I am Concerned About my Level of English?
You do not need to worry. Throughout the duration of this series, you are provided access to the Writing Center support staff who can help you to edit your manuscript. (Please note that this is a service that is not provided to you outside of participation in this series).
Do I Have to Purchase a Book/Materials?

No. However, this is a helpful book that is open-access and highly relevant to the focus of this series: Recommended Book

Do We Meet Every Week?
No, there are six sessions in the series. They are spaced out to allow you to work on aspects of your publication before we proceed to the next step.
How do I Apply?
As there is limited space available for this workshop series, all students will be required to complete an application of interest. Applications will open May 1st. Please check back then to complete the application.
What Happens After I Apply?
Should a student be accepted into the series, the student will receive a pre-task to complete in order to secure their seat. After the completion of that pre-task, the student will receive the Zoom link and information related to the program’s start.
Does This Series Cover All Types of Publications?
No, this series focuses on original research.
